A front-page article in the 5/14/09 issue of USA TODAY highlighted what has been a hallmark of our direct sales industry … companies like TLC offer a home-based business that is recession-resistant. As noted in the USA TODAY article, “direct sales businesses that rely on home-based representatives … are seeing their sales forces rapidly expand as the nation’s unemployment rate soars to nearly 9% and those who lost jobs and nest eggs look for new ways to make money.”

Anecdotally we’re hearing that recruitment is up and unfortunately, as the unemployment rate rises to 10% or higher, we’ll be picking up more people who need an income-earning opportunity.”

In the article, it notes that “Direct selling is a fluid industry, with only 10% of representatives working ‘full-time’ or at least 30 hours a week. But some who work in or watch the industry believe the severity of this recession may cause more sellers to stick with it, even when the economy rebounds, at least as a way to supplement their income.”

“Tens of millions are being affected by this recession in some way,” says Raser. “And most of those people are actively looking for a Plan B that may in fact become their Plan A, because their jobs and their quality of life are at risk. It’s a whole new world for lots of good people, and TLC is a great financial rescue package for all of them.”

The country, heck the world is in a recession! That’s what the doom and gloom media wants you to be buying. Guess what if the world is in a recession; I wouldn’t know because I don’t watch the news, read the paper or listen to talk radio. So I guess I’m living in my own world, which I’m perfectly happy with.

My world seems to be working though. In my world I see that the malls are full, the freeway’s are always packed, movie theaters have tons people spending money on entertainment. I tried to call and get Lakers tickets and they were sold out so this doom and gloom recession isn’t happening in my world and if it were…I chose not to participate! I chose to travel, spend money and buy cars to get money back into our economy. Why don’t you join me? Come and be apart of something bigger than yourself. BluFrog Racin’ Update!

Blu Frog Motorsports kicked off its 2009 season throughout Speed Week with a bang at Daytona International Speedway, introducing our new brand in America’s biggest week of NASCAR racing!

Our exciting Blu Frog Motorsports week started with past Daytona 500 Champion Derrike Cope driving the No. 76 Blu Frog Energy Dodge in the Gatorade Duel Twin 150 race on Thursday 2/12, showcasing our brand to a National TV audience of millions … and a huge track full of excited NASCAR fans! Derrike has been running NASCAR for over 20+ years and his fans are everywhere … and while giving autographs all week long, Derrike further boosted our brand to all of NASCAR Nation!

The excitement continued under the lights on Friday 2/13, as our No. 74 Blu Frog Energy Dodge driven by Larry Foyt ran way strong in the Camping World Truck race under, coming in 20th … and we were in position to finish a lot higher if we hadn’t gotten collected and all tore up during one of those inevitable NASCAR crashes. Larry and his team made us proud by getting the truck fixed as best they could and coming back out to finish the race on National TV … talk about exposure to millions and millions of people!

Finally, we almost had ANOTHER car in the race on Saturday, when Larry Foyt finished just five one-hundredths of a second behind in qualifying for the Nationwide Series in the No. 56 Blu Frog Energy Chevrolet Monte Carlo. And we actually should have BEEN in the race, because our car ran faster than 6 other cars that got in the race based on last year’s owner’s points! Larry did a great job in the 56 and can’t wait to get back on the track with Blu … we can’t either!

By the time Speed Week was over, Blu Frog Energy was known by everyone at Daytona! Not only did we have THREE great-looking Blu frog branded vehicles all over the track and garages the whole week, we were featured on National TV on three different days and three different networks … that’s brand exposure and visibility no other energy drink in our industry has, and it’s Blu Frog that’s catching the eye of the entire racing world!

Look for even more Blu Frog Motorsports news in the coming weeks … because racin’ is in our blood big time!

I QUIT, I’m out of here. . .

well for the week that is. My wife and I are actually off to the Bahamas for an amazing vacation here in the next few hours! There’s a big stretch limu picking us up and taking us to LAX!

We fly out to Miami, FL. in a few hours and enjoy a few days in South Beach, then Friday we board an amazing ship to cruise down to the Bahamas for some R&R with Royal Caribbean cruise lines!

You see it’s because of this industry that we are able to travel like this. I didn’t have to make sure I had enough vacation time to take this trip. I didn’t have to ask permission to take the time off and I didn’t have to worry about not getting paid while I was gone! I know people on my team around the globe are working when I’m off playing and my business grows.

I actually recruited a minister today, a man doing god’s work who told me that he can’t take a vacation because he can’t afford it. That he hasn’t truly taken his wife on their honeymoon trip. That really touched my heart and that my friends is why I do this business. To help people, to help people change their lives for the better!

I just returned home from Ft. Worth, TX. where I had the opportunity to learn many, many things about the future of my company. I was surprised to learn that we now have a racing team that will join the circuit of NASCAR on February 13 -- 14, 2009 at the Daytona 500! You will notice the car as soon as you see it….it’s #56!

BluFrog Motor Sports Driver Larry Foyt

I’m looking to get some pictures of the Car and Truck so you will be ready to cheer on the BluFrog Car!

Larry is great guy and I really like him. After reading some of his bio I think there is some big wins in his future! Here’s some info I found out about him.

In 2001, Foyt moved to the Busch Series, driving the #14 Harrah’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo. He had five top-twenties and finished 22nd in points, third in the Rookie of the Year championship. The next year, he had two top-tens and finished 20th in points. He moved to Cup full-time in 2003, and had a best finish of 16th at Homestead-Miami Speedway, finishing 41st in points. After the team lost its Harrah’s sponsorship, Foyt ran just three races before the team closed its doors.

In 2005, Foyt ran one race in ARCA and finished in the twelfth in the race. He ended up missing most of the season after suffering back injuries in a crash in the Indy 500. He hoped to make the Daytona 500 in the #50 owned by Arnold Motorsports, but missed the race. Early in the season, he announced the formation of his own Busch Series team, but after sponsorship failed to materialize, the team dissolved. He also ran the Indianapolis 500 again, finishing 30th after suffering handling problems.
